Kimchinism.com

Weeks ago, I received a request from this random forum people asking me to post some articles about the Seoul backpack experience I had. Apparently he read my threads (1, 2) in Cari forum and invited me to join in his new created website. When I first read his message, I literally aksjdfhalkjdsfhlkadsjhfadsf holidaychicken! FOR REAL?!  ;____ ; But because I'm not in the mood for posting any backpack articles yet (shet that final exams coming), I told the guy to just take my articles from my threads by crediting back to me. He even offered me to be one of the co-admins (PAWESOME RIGHT?!), but I can only start on anything after I'm done with my finals. If all these fantasies are really happening, I think I will be more cautious & enthusiasm during my next backpack trip to Korea, Ha!

But whether joining in or not, please do support this first Malaysian Korea Backpack website (ithinkso)!

What a city.

.

This is the room we stayed for one week during our backpack trip in Seoul.
A warm, comfy, maybe a little bit squeezy, not so noise-proof. but it's just a place to sleep and talkmakenoiseatmidnight, so, what's more could i ask for?

This is the place that offered us the cheapest deal, RM105 per night. Unbelievable, but we had to pay RM100+ per night stay, then divided by 2 persons, each person takes 50+. With RM100, we could find maybe a 3star hotel stay in Malaysia, but not in Seoul, where their living cost is so berladee high.

I'm glad that PM wasn't the one who acted like a stranger to me. We did not say things like "Ah, its okay, you can take the lower bunk." NOOO WAAY. No fun no fun! Then, we did 'jan-ke-po'. Believe it or not, i'm a definite loser in games, but i won the game! This is what you call, M.I.R.A.C.L.E. So congratulation to me, i owned the lower bunk, while she had to knock her head at the ceiling in mornings whenever i called her up and we're totally late for the day schedule.

Seoul is an awesome city. awesome. I love the transportation. The cleanliness. The friendliness. The variety-ness. The goodlooking-ness. The weather-ness. The services you get everywhere. It was my second visit to Seoul, but the city is still as pretty as it was. It is a place where people greet you wherever you are. Like what you saw in korean drama, when people walk in the shopping malls, 2-lines of uniform staffs greeting people at the entrance, no kidding, its R.E.A.L. Guess what, even in hypermarkets like LOTTE MART, E-MART, they have goodlooking guys standing at the entrance to greet you, help you pull out a sexy shopping cart, wishing you a great shopping day. WOAH. What a pleasant day shopping there! Even though the items maybe berladee expensive, but when you think of the handsome smiles, you just couldn't hold back anymore, you stretch your arms and reach for items from the racks!

ELFs should know about Hyundai Department store, Siwon is the only son of the big owner of the store. That store is, RIDICULOUS! They have guards, or maybe traffic guards around their building. They'll be wearing their uniforms, with a handsfree microphone (like those singers on stage), standing at the middle of the road, guiding the cars going in/coming out from the building. At the same time, they act as traffic man, guiding the walkers to cross the road. What? Isn't this supposed to be policemen's job? I was so overwhelmed by all the treatments I received when i was in korea. What a lovely country. In chinese, we say This is what we'll never get in Msia, not even a smile from the store keeper. I'm not trying to compare the 2 countries, because you cant even put Msia into comparison. Aish.

There are just too many awesome points to talk about Seoul. Only if they have lower living cost, i would not hesitate to stay permanently there! Maybe one day, when i can get high paid job there, i will wave goodbye at all my friends here :)

triple room for 2 person.

...

Michelle reminded me about the new hostel korea webpage. I have not been to their webpage since i came back from Korea. And i was totally shocked when i view it back. Because, Hostel Korea has co-jointed with NamSan Guesthouse! U know what, that was our initial hostel spot!! But they're in full list, no vacant for us, for we just had to shift on to Hostel Korea. Sangat terharu lah, both of my 2 most favourite hostels are now running under the same management!!

I lagi terharu when i saw they used the room we had as the bannner pic!!
Nostalgia i tell u.

that's definitely our room!Because they only have 2 triple rooms, and judging from the angle and position, this is the one we stayed! Room 214! Valentine room! heh.

This is how the room is supposed to look like.

the outside view reminds me of a story. One day in the morning, a lorry was driving through the front road. There's a temple located opposite the hostel and they have the light banner on the wall like what the normal shops have. The metal rod of the lorry accidentaly crashed the banner, and the banner got senget a bit. The driver and workers realized it and quickly got down from the vehicle, knocking the temple door to get owner's attention. At first no one responded to them, but they didn't just give up, they continue to knock knock and knock. After almost 10mins, the temple owner finally came out. They apologize politely and asked for permission to let them to fix the banner. They fixed, then apologize again, and left.

U SEE?! Do u see the different?! Malaysia is famous with langgar lari u know?! Langgar people pun lari, langgar anjing pun lari, apatah lagi langgar tiang orang?!

I was so amazed and sticked at the window for half and hour to witness the whole process.
i'm truly amazed with their honesty and politeness. T^T

During our first night, everything is still so clean and peaceful.

and after one day........ = =

pray hard the staffs will not randomly search google and found out this horror scene. XP

the building 2 has finally reopened after the renovation. the double bed bunks.

a lil bit crowded, and not much of privacy. i would rather pay a lil bit more to stay in double/triple room.

...

seems like endless of korea korea korea from me? Well, try to go on a backpack, i'm sure everything is going to remind, relate u to ur unforgettable trip!!

...

the deep husky voice.

...

was chatting wall-to-wall with michelle on facebook and so happened to talk about the staff we knew when we're staying in hostel Korea. Although we didn't talk much during the stay, but they really left us with a deep deep impression. They're probably the only bunch of people who can actually communicate in proper english with us. We started our interaction since my first email to them, requesting for vacant room. After times and times of changing this and that, making me feel so paiseh for creating so much troubles, finally Sam gave me a final satisfying confirmation. Through that whole 2 weeks, i didn't know who was i chatting with, the email always starts with "Hi, this is Sam" "Hi, this is Kun" "Hi, this is Jerry" "Hi, this is Ju" , and Sam is the one who can make proper english in sentence, seems like he's gone through some english courses too. Before departure, i'd never imagined how do they look like, i thought i was going to meet the other staffs and not the ones who replied my mails.

But, when i reached Hostel Korea, i knew that i made a PERFECT decision to stay in there. The first staff who welcomed us was Kun. HE IS CUTE. *press hard on capslock* U know the typical cute good looking young korean celebs, he's that type!! I always thought only the celebs can have such adoring look, but NAAH, I just found one in here, in my hostel! Woohoo!! The moment he spoke, Mic and I were like giggling... his voice is freaking sexy husky wooooooooii!!! He invited us into the office, we had to make full payment before the stay. I was trying so hard to converse in korean with him, but just failed miserably, all i could say was just some simple kindergarden level words. After we made the payment, he led us to our room, and he didn't offer to carry my super 18kg luggage, how disappointing. or maybe he did? i cannot remember. =P Since then, i have totally fallen in love with him [not the real one lah], i kept mentioning him as MINE MINE MINE. lol. Michelle even asked me to confess to him. crazy P.P.L.

They have 3 shifts in one day, Jerry-morning ; Kun-Afternoon; Sam-whole night. So normally we don't see Kun, because we went out in morning and back at night. The time we have dinner or supper in the kitchen, Sam would be in the living room watching tv and that's a TOTAL AWKWARD moment. Besides from asking some tourist spot information, we barely talk about anything. awkward awkward awkward. I remember once, michelle was browsing on internet and did some update on the H1N1 progress, i just blunted out "진짜?" Sam passed by he heard my voice and immediately imitated my reaction "진짜?!" with that cute intention. Oh my goodness~ I was about to die of happiness. Its really amusing to see a tall giant guy to do cute imitation at u, totally happiness, i could die with no regrets already. XD Everytime we have any request, we prefer to seek attention from Sam because he can speak better english. I didn't mean to diss others away, its just that we're feeling more confident to speak to him, because he could understand our words right away.

Jerry is not bad too, he's the cute blur type. His face is a typical korean face, lol, in a good way tho. Everytime when he get confused, he would just stare at u with his cute sepet eyes, hoping u to give further explanation of ur words. Sometimes he even stone and just look at u, processing interpreting by himself there. There was once where an Australian youngman was cooking in the kitchen. The smell and gas odour have totally filled up the whole basement level, so i went to him and checked if there's anything i could do for him. He told me that the exhaust fan is not functioning, so i tried to get Jerry's attention to solve the problem. Jerry was sitting at the counter, while i was standing infront of him with a glass between us. I was like "Something is wrong in the kitchen, can u follow me?" I even did the 'follow me' hand gesture, but he was just still, staring me, with many questioning marks in his mind bubble. And again, i repeated my words, i almost crushed in the office room to drag him out, but phew, he realised my intention before letting me doing so.

There were times when we found Sam/Jerry replacing Kun's duty. So we asked them about Kun. We're told that Kun's leaving to Australia soon, so he's having his memory trip during that few days. We couldn't meet the time to meet him again, such great pity. We didn't take picture with him, the man i adored so much... owh. They said that he's going there for almost one year, i wonder will he be back to Hostel korea after that one year? I'm really hoping to meet him again during my next stay in Hostel Korea! Oh Kun, please come back!!! T^T

...

i look back at the mails and found these.

the only mail replied by him. u bad kun...

owh shit, did i just confessed to him?? lol.

TOURIST CENTRE.
FREE SHUTTLE BUS.

TAKE PICTURE? WITH THIS FACE?"

....
